Filtering self-rescuers are designed for individual protection of respiratory and visual organs from combustion products during evacuation from smoke-filled premises in the event of a fire, as well as from other dangerous chemical substances (vapors, gases, and aerosols) in cases of industrial accidents and terrorist acts.

The universal compact filtering self-rescuer (UCFS) "Chance" - E consists of a high-visibility colored hood with an enlarged viewing window, an adjustable headband, and a flexible neck seal. Underneath the hood is a half mask that is integrated with a powerful filtering system composed of two filters. Both the hood and filters are made from heat-resistant material.
