Hand fire nozzles are designed to form and direct a solid stream of water and fire-extinguishing substances to the site of a fire.
Prestige manual nozzles have a model-like appearance onto which a fire hose is attached.
There are models available with a nominal inlet diameter of 50mm and a spray diameter of:
- 16mm (RS-50.01-16)
- 13mm (RS-50.01-13)
RS-50.01-16 nozzles (with a 16mm spray diameter) are produced as part of complete products - Prestige Complete Fire Hydrant Valves (PKK) with the RS-50.01 nozzle.
Advantages of nozzles with a 16mm spray diameter:
According to the technical regulatory act SP 10.13130.2009 "Fire Protection Systems. Internal Fire Water Supply. Fire Safety Requirements," in buildings where the minimum height of the compact part of the stream is required to be 6m (in residential, public, industrial, and ancillary buildings of industrial enterprises, buildings of height class up to 50m inclusive) and 8m (in residential buildings of height class above 50m), as well as with a minimum water flow rate of 2.5 l/s, it is advisable to use nozzles with a 16mm spray diameter.
Nozzles with a 13mm spray diameter do not provide the minimum water flow rate of 2.5 l/s for extinguishing fires at a height of 6m and 8m with the compact part of the stream. To achieve the necessary minimum water flow rate for fire extinguishing when using nozzles with a 13mm spray diameter, it is necessary to create a pressure at the fire hydrant twice as high as when using nozzles with a 16mm spray diameter. (Table 3, SP 10.13130.2009).
To create higher pressure when using nozzles with a 13mm spray diameter, it is necessary to use more powerful pumps, connect an automation system, and additional pump stations. This is not economically advantageous for the overall project, as it increases the cost of acquiring additional and more expensive equipment, increases power consumption, and incurs maintenance costs for the automation system.
